This is a subject very dear to my heart, and also very personal for most of you. These days almost every one of us knows someone who has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Or cancer in general for that matter.
I want to encourage you all to get involved and support the strongest fighters out there. Our moms, our sisters, our aunts, our grandmothers & cousins, and our friends.
The Avon Walk for Breast Cancer is hitting the Rocky Mountains June 23-24th this year and will take you from Keystone to Frisco and then to Breckenridge. This 2-day, 39 mile walk is still open for registration, or you can support with a donation to my dear friend Tracey who has been registered and training for months!
Or, if you’re in Boulder County, and love martinis or a women who loves martinis, please join me in the Walk a Mile in Their Shoes event in Longmont (high heels aren’t actually required ~ think comfort: flip flops, tennis shoes, or certainly rock the heels if you want to!).
This one hits close to home for me as we’ll be walking to help raise money for my friends’ mom Stephanie who was just diagnosed earlier this year. She is a true fighter with a kick-butt attitude and is fighting this disease with poise and grace!
I can’t begin to express how passionate I am about these two events and how serious I am about raising money to kick breast cancer’s butt. I end up a sobbing mess when I think about how it effects 1 in 8 women in the US. I look around and see my friends & family and think any one of us could be the next to battle it and I need to do something about it.
Please, get involved any way you can.
Let’s end it in our lifetimes, Ladies (and Gents)!
